who these terms cover

Straight terms for paid work

Alien Web Design is part of Alien IT Solutions, a sole trader based in Sydney, Australia. Our ABN is 32 385 519 280. We provide websites, ecommerce, SEO, hosting and maintenance, and custom software through alienwebdesign.com.au. You can call us on 02 9161 8000. The written quote for your job is the actual agreement. It sets out the work and terms for that job. If the quote and this page disagree, the quote wins.

price and scope

The number is agreed before work starts

Published prices are starting prices and exclude GST. Your quote is fixed in writing before work starts. We do not bill by the hour, and you will not receive an invoice at the end that is bigger than the number agreed. If you change the scope, we price the change separately and agree it with you before building it.

ownership and hosting

It is your site

You own the important parts of the job and can choose where they live.

your part of the job

We need the material and decisions from you

A project depends on you supplying what the written quote requires.

search and ai

No promises about rankings or citations

We do not guarantee search rankings or AI and chatbot citations. Google decides its rankings. Nobody controls whether an AI assistant names a business.

outside platforms

Third parties make their own changes

Google, Cloudflare, WordPress, payment providers, registrars and other third-party platforms can change without notice. Those changes are outside our control.

free guides

Read them and act on them

Our website guides are free to read and act on. You may not republish them as someone else's work.

rights and responsibility

Australian Consumer Law still applies

Nothing on this page limits any rights or consumer guarantees you have under the Australian Consumer Law. Where the law allows responsibility to be limited, our responsibility for a job is limited to re-doing the work or refunding what you paid for it. To the extent the law permits, we exclude indirect or consequential loss such as lost profits. These terms are governed by the law of New South Wales, Australia.
